Slowly Eragon came out of the darkness that always seemed to accompany the horrifying pain that the scar gave him. He found himself on the ground could see Oromis' feet. Slowly he stood up, putting his hand gingerly to his back.

"Master... I don't understand. No one has been able to discover a reason for the pain in my back. They all say that I'm perfectly healthy," he implored his master, the wise elf.

For a long time, Oromis stared at him, his face perfectly blank. Then he sighed. "This is something that I had not thought I would need to discuss with you."

"What?"

"Come with me." And Oromis turned and started to walk deep into the forest. Eragon followed him, hobbling almost. His back hurt, and his stomach felt like he was going to exorcise all its contents. They walked in silence, as they often were want to do. Eragon thought about opening his mind up, but he hurt too badly to do it.

After a half an hour of walking, they entered a quiet glade with two stones. Oromis sat on one and indicated that Eragon should sit on the other. When he had done so, the elf stared up into the canopy.

"You know, that when a dragon bonds with their chosen Rider, the Rider goes through certain changes, yes?"

Eragon nodded, and unconsciously fingered his ears.

"The outside is not the only thing that changes. We found, over the years, that the male Riders who bonded with female dragons became... special."

"Special how?"

"Eragon, have you enjoyed the company of a man since you bonded with Saphira?" Oromis asked, seemingly changing the subject.

"Of course I have, Murtagh... and Brom."

"No, I mean, have you been intimate with a man?"

Eragon's eyes widened for a second, remembering some of the nights with Murtagh and Brom, "What if I have? What does this have to do with my back?"

Oromis folded his hands, "Eragon, the change that the female dragon causes in their male Rider is to give them the ability to become pregnant."

"Pregnant? I'm Pregnant?"

"Yes, I believe so."

And Eragon fainted as the horror of what he heard overcame his senses and all he wanted was the sanctuary of darkness.

Um okay this is like my first fan fic so please No FLAMES!! I really really like Alec he's so cute and I want to keep him in my closet and take him out to snuggle. So I thought that since all his boyfriends were always so mean to him I'd make him a girlfriend that was nice to him. So he's not really gay in this story. I hope you like ti plz R&R!!

Disclaminer: Alec doesn't belong to me and I have no money. Please don't SUE ME!!!

Chapter one" Enter Lidnadia

Lidnadia Saphira Moonraven rode towards the city of wizards on her pure white horse iwth a golden horn. She had hair long that was silver and streaked with black naturally, taht's whty the called her Moonraven. Her eyes were of the deepest violet and when she looked at soemone it was as if she were looking right into their soul and she knew everything about them. Her skin was a flawless white with rosy cheeks and pert nose. She wore a man's tunic (black with gold trim) and dark brown leather pants and knee high boots. She didn't like wearing woman's clotehs as she felt that they were silly and didn't allow her to move freely. On her back was a silvery bow given to her by the Queen of the Fey and a sword that was given to her by the dragon elders. On her right hand was a sunburst tatoo.

She had been riding for several days and was looking forward to resting in the cities fine inn. But she had an important duty to do first. HSe had to fined Alec Trovne the current Fey Court Champion. She her self was not the fey court champion but instead the Dragon's Champion. It was a special post that hadn't been filled in two thousand years, but becuase of her speical abilities she was both a witch and an element wizard she was able to fullfil the post.

Once she entered the city she went to find Alec. It was easy for her because she was a powerful telepath and she could pinpoint his mind with ease.

Alec's POV

Alec had been practicing iwth his sword in the guards court. He moved gracefully fighting his shadow. As he did this, he saw a beautiful woman ride up on a golden unicorn. Stoppign he stared at her, somethign inside of him skipping a beat.

she looks like a princess! I wonder what her name is! he thought to himself. He watched as she got off her unicorn and walked towards him, looking like a silvery angel. Could she be walking towards me!

And she did walk towards him. Stopping in front ofh im, a breeze catchign her hair and makign it fly out like a sheeting of silver, she smiled at him.

"Alec Troven?" she asked.

"Yes, I am. May I ask what your name is? For you look like an angel sent from heaven, but I surly can't call you that."

She smiled and blushed a little, The compliment had been unexpected, and she didn't know what to say tot aht. She never thought of her self as beautiful, despite what others had told her.

"I am Linadia Saphira Moonraven. I have come with urgent news fromthe Elder Dragons and the Queen of the Fey. The entire world is in danger unless you come with me and help me destroy the dark lord that has arrisen in Lancoon."

Why I think everyone should write fan fiction.

An Essay.

Fan Fiction is a controversial subject in the writing world. Published writers say that it's an infringement on their writerly rights and creations. Would be published writers say that it's a cheap substitute to real writing. It's fraught with bad, terrible and disgustingly horrifying writing. However, I think that fan fiction is a fantastic idea for the beginning writer to do.

One of the most difficult things to do in writing is the creation aspect. The creation of characters and then writing them so that they're not some sort of flat creation. World building is also difficult for the beginning writer. All of these things take away from some of the more basic craft things that a writer needs to learn: plot, story telling and dialog. And this is why fan fiction is a good thing to write.

Fan fiction has everything that a writer needs. Characters, a world to put them in. The characters have their motivations and there is even a history of the world. It leaves the writer room to work on other aspects of their craft, the creation of a plot, coming up with smooth story telling techniques and writing believable dialog. They know how a character is supposed to act. What they like and dislike all ready. All they need to do is keep the character in character.

Of course, this is the biggest problem with a lot of fan fiction writers. They don't see writing fan fiction as an exercise in becoming a writer, in fine tuning their craft but instead as a way to write out their fantasies. They don't see the need to keep the characters in character, but instead want to use them to be original characters in their own stories. They don't understand what fan fiction is really about. The writing of stories in someone else's world, but instead think that it is just a template for their own fantasies. They use the characters and the dressings of the world and then go off on their own tangents that don't fit the world. The craft of writing isn't important to them.

Instead they have an idea and they write it, without realizing that they have to see if it actually can work in the world that they're writing in. They force the characters into positions that they can't be in. They then expect to be patted on the back for writing something.

But I digress. I think that if a person really is serious about the craft of writing and interested in becoming a better writer, writing fan fiction is a good exercise for them. They have a model that they need to mimic, something that is difficult to have in writing original fiction. In other arts, like painting when you're learning how to paint, you have models and exercises to copy. But writing so much of it you have to create on your own that if you don't have a good character, then the rest of your story falls flat. But if you're using someone else's character, then you're free to work on other aspects of your writing. And when it's done, you can compare your writing, the way you wrote the world to the original text and see what you did right and what you did wrong.

It makes you learn how to keep a character in character. It makes you have to follow certain rules for a world. It requires discipline to write good fan fiction. You can't write whatever you want and so you have to really think about what you're writing and why. Why are you making a character do this? Is this something they would really do? Is this a plausible use of something in this world? Does it contradict other set down rules?

This is one of the reasons that I enjoy writing fan fiction. I have a ready made world to play in, and I get to work on things like character and story. I don't have to worry about creating a new culture or wondering if this fits into my world. It's all already there. I just have to make sure I'm using everything correctly. It's a good writing exercise.

On an utterly unrelated side note, I'm curious as to the sort of fan fiction that'll be created when my works get published. I can look at what I have written now and extrapolate what sort of things Sue Authors would take advantage of, but for the more serious writers, I'm not so sure what they'll do, and that's something I'm curious to learn about.

Fan fic!

Title The Secrets of Flight (canon version)
Characters Nathan
Author's notes So, I wrote a version where Nathan discovers how he knew how to fly and then Heroes when and said WRONG! This is my response to that.

So, now I have this idea of a fan fic where Nogard gets seduced by a Mary Sue. Nogard is a book. It is a asexual androgynies looking creature with long silvery white hair, slim and has wings. Very pretty. Completely asexual though. It's a book. Books aren't really known for their sex lives.

But its pretty. So it will end up having sex. I can see where it happens to and how it happens. And oh dear GOD someone stop me.

You're not supposed to write bad fan fic on your own work that's not even published yet!
kippurbird: (sleep? What sleep?)
Some people, when they have brain spew it's just a few short paragraphs of nothing. Me? I ended up writing nineteen pages of story. See, I forgot to take my meds on Saturday night and ended up tossing and thinking about a story idea based on an Role play that I did. Not being able to sleep I said, screw it, flipped open my lap top and started to write. That was around four in the morning. By six that night I had thirteen pages done. I had to stop because of Yom Kippur. As soon as it was over I pounded out another six pages to end up at nineteen pages of pure crack fic.

It is called Serentitel and it is a Sue fic. But it's not a normal Sue fic. See, the role play that it was based on involved Nicholas Sayre from the Abhorsen trilogy by Garth Nix and a much older version of Alec, who goes by Alexander. Alexander and Nick had fallen in love through some complicated circumstances and were living together in Alexander's house that was somewhere else. The Sue, Serentitel, had snuck into the house and stole something of vital importance before returning to the Old Kingdom. In the Role play, Alexander and Nick managed to retrive the item with only a fair amount of difficulty. This story is about what happened if the Sue had won.

It's very odd. But shows you that perhaps my medications are a good thing after all. Or that if I really want to get some writing done I should forgo my meds all together.

So I was reading a "Lovely" Harry Potter story where James was a Surfer Dude in California and Lily was a Mermaid and nothing about the Harry Potter verse was included. Just the names were the same. So I decided, you know what? I'm going to write an Alec story and then change the names to Harry Potter names and see what happens.

I just need a plot.

So Here it is: My essay on why  Fan ficc writers have done what they've done.  In regards to Evil , at least.  Comments and Critisim and tearing apart are much welcomed, for they only serve to make it better.
