Sep. 29th, 2008 09:42 amSo, I've started Wiki-Making again. It's a way for me to (hopefully) keep track of everything that's happening in my novels. An easy reference guide.
Don't remember what so and so's last name is? Check the wiki. Don't remember what they look like? Check the wiki. What about when did this happen? Check the wiki.
The biggest problem is, of course, getting through it and putting in the information as I'm the only one who knows it. And it doesn't help that sometimes things change. The best example being Jono. But since it is a wiki, it should be easy to update and change things.

And what, you may ask, could I do with a Wiki? Well it's an experiment in the nature of hypertext. I got this idea a long time ago in one of my classes. The idea of being able to read a text and see older versions or drafts, what the author was thinking when they did certain scenes, quick links to character biographies, links to authors and what they were thinking when they created a certain character or what happened to a character that was unexpected. It's the ability to put those damn irritating In Author Text Notes without it ruining the flow of the story. :D
At first I was going to just do my stuff, but I realized that, well a Wiki is meant to be shared. You can find the wiki http://www.alternates.elwiki.com But I'd appreciate it if you contacted me before adding anything to it. I'm still working out a lot of the bugs and trying to figure out What the Fuck I'm doing.
