kippurbird: (What goes on in Kippur's head)
[personal profile] kippurbird
Dad's home! YAY! =D He's doing better and we're trying to keep liquids in him. He was chatting with the parakeet last night who chatted right back in little bird babble. They're so cute because my dad always acts like he doesn't like animals, except when your back is turned. ^_^

And now Well fuck. Brick three is coming out a year from now and ... there's going to be a brick four. He's turning into a regular Robert Jordan here.

As the press release says:

“I plotted out the Inheritance series as a trilogy nine years ago, when I was fifteen. At that time, I never imagined I’d write all three books, much less that they would be published” said Paolini. “When I finally delved into Book Three, it soon became obvious that the remainder of the story was far too big to fit in one volume. Having spent so long thinking about the series as a trilogy, it was difficult for me to realize that, in order to be true to my characters and to address all of the plot points and unanswered questions Eragon and Eldest raised, I needed to split the end of the series into two books.”

I dunno if this is a good or bad thing. I mean this whole "True to my characters" shit is so... laughable. Because you know, this would require him to actually have characters instead of NPCs that fawn over the Gary Stu.

So, make of that what you will.

I'm glad your dad is home again!

And, yes, how horrid is it that Sha-Pao-Pao has decided to prolong our torture. I cry many single emo tears of sadness. :(

Will they be crystalline tears of emo sadness that catch the moonlight as they trail down your porcelain cheek?

And thank you.

I'm glad to hear that your dad's better. As for CP though, I can't believe that he's actually going to write four of the stupid things. I put some predications for the next two books in anti-shr'tugal and I shall now re-post them here for everyone's amusement.

1. They're going to have loads of superfluous description about places and Arya
2. Eragon will pass out at least twenty times in each book
3. The "plot" will be Return of the Jedi stretched out over two books so it'll be harder to accuse him of plagiarism (CP- I wrote FOUR books not THREE so I couldn't possibly have copied George Lucas)
4. The Ra'zac will be defeated at the end of book 3, and Galbatorix at the end of book 4
5. Katrina will die when they attempt to rescue her, giving Eragon and Roran an excuse to ANGST
6. The Varden shall suffer a defeat in book 3, but don't worry Eragon/Roran will pull a magical solution out of their asses and keep the important rebels like Nasuada from being captured though they'll have to re-group
7. Surda will be sacked as a result of point 6 which gives Our Heroes more excuses to ANGST
8. Oromis and Galedr will die either sometime late in book 3 or the beginning of book 4
9. The weapon under the Menoa Tree and the Vault of Souls will be each be used in one of the books as a Deus Ex Machina plot device. My guess is that the sword under the Menoa Tree will be used in book 3 and the Vault of Souls in book 4.
10. After their capture by the Raz'ac, Saphira will be raped by Murtagh's dragon. After she and Our Heroes escape, Arya will comfort her with "Oh you poor dragon, I would have been raped in prison too, but the author didn't want me to be a less than perfect Love Interest for his idiot hero!" This will make Saphira realize that she was Wrong to Be Jealous of Arya and she'll tell Eragon that Arya really is Right For Him.
11. There will be climactic battles at the end of book 3 and book 4.
12. Sometime after 10, Arya will confess her love for Eragon, they'll screw each other, then they'll be divided by a Big Misunderstanding late in book 3, then make up by the end of book 4.

I wonder how many of these will actually come true. Anyone want to take some bets?

I have to admit it, I didn’t see this one coming. And I can usually guess when an author will become crazy with sequels…

Oh, well. Lucky us, huh? What will be the color of the fourth brick? Third one was going to be green, right? Maybe this one will be purple.

See, I plan on writing several series within the one world, but they won't be necessary to read all to get it. Kinda like the Discworld novels.
