So... I work at a Jewish University.

For Valentine's day all the departments got a really nice heart shaped box of See's chocolate.

From a Messianic group exhorting us to believe in Jesus.

They apparently do this every year. One year I remember one of the teachers going into a lovely cursing fit over it.

My boss warned us not to eat the chocolate. I think he thought it might be poisoned. Or drugged.

I wonder what the message is supposed to be... Believe in Jesus, he gives you candy?

You work at a Jewish University? So I take it you're Jewish? Maybe? Just curious. I've always wanted to look deeper into the religion, but I find it better to do so from someone who actually knows about it first-hand, rather than simply reading up on it from books and websites.

I really should know better than to be eating or drinking while reading most of the people on my flist. "Believe in Jesus, he gives you candy" needs to be an icon.

No. I didn't eat it because I had already eaten a meat meal and am not allowed to have anything dairy for four hours after. Other people were enjoying the chocolate and proclaiming that they have been saved by Jesus.

I think Jews for Jesus makes more sense than Christianity in some ways. After all, Christ came to reform Judaism, not to start a new religion.

Religion is interesting stuff. That's why I majored in it.
