So we started to play Star Wars last night. And once again I started to get annoyed at the free useage of the Jedi mind trick. You know, the "These are not the droids you are looking for" thingy. And I started thinking about that, and decided, I don't like it because their using the Force to freely. The Force, from my understanding, should be used as a last resort, not as a first resort. And not to get something done just because you want it done or to make it go away. I mean the two Jedi in our game were mind tricking the captain of a Star Destroyer to make him give us a meeting later. There were other ways about that, of course, but they had to mind trick him. At least they've promised not to mind trick us all the time.

We'll see how long it lasts.

Well if you look at the movies, that how it seems. They hardly ever use the force except in life or death situations. I mean if Obi-Wan didn't trick the stormtroopers then they would have been killed. But in the game, if we didn't have a meeting with the captain, nothing would have happened. In fact we didn't get the meeting with the captain.

They are so abusing the Force and moving down to the dark side.

You should totally tell them that. Because people tend to do that kind of stuff in games (and fic) and sometimes it's a cheap way to avoid having to plot, or what have you. I've sometimes done similar, so I know it's fun to play with one's "powers"--but from the outside it looks kinda Suvian.

Anyway. Hope game goes well!

Oh it is total suvian. One of the Jedi is played by a total Stu maker.

Every PC he makes is a total Stu. He some how managed to roll THREE 18's and a 17 once for his Pc's stats.
