Hm, did not know there was a "manga" set. I actually don't usually draw manga-esque stuff, but the Copics really do seem to lend themselves to that style I guess.
The highlights in various places were done different ways. The hair highlights were basically just blanks. The eye highlights involved using the palest cool gray in the set on the whites of the eyes so the actual white part left for the shines actually looked lighter than the eye whites. That's kind of a pain to do. Especially since I usually work in pencil and can just erase for highlights! There exists a Copic "blender" pen, but I don't have it.
It's one of the wallet kits. I didn't know there was one either until I was looking at the sets.
My set has the Special Black. I think it might be slightly lighter or slightly darker than regular black? Or maybe they're just trying to sell you more markers. XD
Highlighting is hard. Doing realistic coloring is hard too.
I've got the colorless blender too, but I don't know what it does.

I got the manga set, actually. I say this because yours looks like a manga drawing while mine doesn't.
Were the highlights done by leaving the paper blank?

I usually use the Copics for more cartoony work because I just kind of don't think my color drawings look realistic no matter what I do. If I try for realism it looks like this kind of thing:
Some people hugging in the rain
Rare color thingie from my webcomic
My set also came with "black" and "special black." I have no idea what's special about the special black.
