Well, this week is getting better.

The nice folks at Comics Arts Conference emailed me saying that they noticed I wanted to speak at Comic Con in San Diego and that they hadn't actually started looking at those applications yet. They said I could still speak at WonderCon if I wished though. They also said they noticed I worked at a Jewish Institution and they were having a panel about Jews in Comic books called People of the [Comic] Book". Would I be interested in that, instead. I said sure and after talking with the guy in charge of that panel he said that I'd be perfect as the literature discussant.

PLUS he offered to feed me a few meals and help me find food.

So... so far. So good.

As for my original paper, they said it was highly likely to get approved for Comic Con.

Isn't SDCC one of the biggest cons in the country? It would be awesome if you got to speak there.

That panel sounds really interesting, and I hope you have fun doing it. It's cool you have help with the food angle, too. It's too bad and kinda weird that the con isn't offering Passover food; it's not like Passover is an unknown holiday, and obviously the con organizers have an interest in programming that appeals to Jewish people, but it's like they haven't put two and two together.

Yes. It is one of the biggest cons in the country, if not the biggest. The amount of geek cred that this will give me is amazing. ^_^

I am looking into the food thing, as I am being certain that food good.
