After considerable thought and talking with [livejournal.com profile] dergerm I've decided that I am going to try some agents that focus on gay and lesbian fiction. I figure that since the main characters of my novels are not heterosexual that they would be more interested in it than agents that normally deal with just straight fantasy. (Pun not intended)

I don't know if you actually want to do this, but if you go for niche like that, you can also get published by a real house without an agent. I know several who have because they wrote for niche genre (gay niche, at that).

So, if you can't find an agent (I think the agent is more likely not to care, btw) that you like, you can find one of those small houses and get your name out. Then more agents may open up to you.

Heh, that makes it sound like an RPG. Earn experience points!
