It means you have to have your own webhost instead of using another free one, because free services like geocities don't let you have access to server-side stuff you need to install most message board software on.
An alternative solution is to simply create a board on a site dedicated to that sort of thing (I think easyboard or whatever it's called may be still around?) and then link it from the wiki.
Well, you could always try using a free message board host, such as Proboards or Ivision (I think it's free)and providing a link from the Sporkings site to it.
I was thinking it over during my shift at work. I have a lot of unoccupied webspace. If you're interested, I could make you a subdomain where you can have the message board. (And wiki, if you want.)
