Date: 2008-08-28 12:19 pm (UTC)This takes... not only never reading a book, in your entire life, but also being completely ignorant of the freaking marketing campaign of the movies as well.

And I'm going to pretend that by "the sequels have only been published recently" they mean either a) recently = past 100 years or b) sequels = Children of Hurin.

Date: 2008-08-28 03:19 pm (UTC)I´ve seen this so many times before that I´m almost used to it. But it was usually about Harry Potter, and how Rowling was plagiarized by Tolkien and C.S. Lewis and Terry Prattchet and so on. But I have to admit that DB and OP is new. Heh.

Date: 2008-09-12 07:53 am (UTC)Dragonball is influenced by Journey to the West, a Chinese novel that predates Lord of the Rings by a few hundred years. Lord of the Rings is irrelevant. Dragonball and One Piece could definitely exist without it. Although it is quite sad to see someone truly believing that Dragonball is older than Lord of the Rings and that Lord of the Rings copy-pasted from Dungeons and Dragons, it should be noted that the whole conversation is, in essence, completely full of fail.
