Thoughts on Dr.Who Left turn? Turn left? Eh..
Now I'm an utter sucker for AUs that are done right. So I was very pleased with the episode on the whole except for two tiny nit-picks.
1. If Martha didn't survive to go with the Doctor into the past and meet Shakespeare how was the production of "Love's Labour Won" stopped?
2. Now LOGICALLY I know why they didn't have the Doctor regenerate was because they didn't want to make an 11th Doctor. That being said, they should have come up with some thing to explain why he didn't regenerate. Because unlike the Master he didn't have a reason not to regenerate.

Date: 2008-06-23 05:15 pm (UTC)In the Sarah Jane Adventures, the episode where the Trickster thing changed the world so SJ wasn't in it, he (or it) actually changed other events as well, to get the world right where he wanted it, therefore the Slitheen didn't turn off the moon, etc. So that explanation can probably apply here.
Or, you can say that one event change triggers a million others, so the Doctor's death meant that the Carrionites never went to Shakespeare's England.
Or something.

Perhaps, but it felt more like they couldn't control the reality once the choice was made.
Though, curiously, now that I think about it, how did the Doctor know about the Arachnos if Donna didn't show up in the TARDIS in her wedding dress.
And the Master/Saxon had things to do in that episode as well... but he couldn't have been there, because the Doctor had never regenerated the Professor.
This is getting sticky. =D

Kippur, is that kitten/Doctor-icon gankable? It's adorable.

Date: 2008-06-24 04:18 pm (UTC)Duh. She probably didn't have Donna's Fuck you get me to the Church On Time Martian Boy moral understanding of things.
And sure. I don't remember who I ganked it from...

Date: 2008-06-23 05:36 pm (UTC)Personally, I'm looking forward to the next episode. It looks like four companions and six episodes worth of awesome has been packed into it.
Also, is it me, or did Billie Piper seem to have trouble getting into character?

Donna, Rose, Jack, Sarah Jane, Martha, Jackie, Mickey...K-9?
That's eight. =D
She looked kinda like she didn't know what she was doing there.

Date: 2008-06-23 06:05 pm (UTC)What it looks like is that they're crossing over Doctor Who, Torchwood, and Sarah Jane Adventures.

Date: 2008-06-24 04:21 pm (UTC)INTERESTINGLY. There was a Sarah Jane episode with a creature called "The Trickster" the same fella the Doctor mentioned in regards to bag of tricks. The Trickster said that he was interested in the Doctor and would like to make him go poof.
I think that this episode is the sort of "sequel" to that Sarah Jane episode.

Date: 2008-06-23 05:58 pm (UTC)But, yeah. It does make sense for her to be there. She's, out of all the companions, going to be the one who knows how to deal with them the best, I think.

Date: 2008-06-23 09:41 pm (UTC)(Note on regeneration: It /is/ automatic, isn't it? I mean, come on, Seven died and stayed dead for a couple of /hours/ before regenerating. I think they were just hoping no one would ask that question...)

Date: 2008-06-24 04:27 pm (UTC)I don't know. I hope not. I mean they sort of indicated in this episode that she was still kick ass and took names (even if she died in the hospital)
And look at Jenny too. She died and came back a bit later.

The last episode is going to be a fangasm of characters meeting.

Date: 2008-06-24 04:23 pm (UTC)Me too! That was great. Personally, I like to think that it was happening in the States too, but we just focused on the British events.

As long as it doesn't tank with the ending with the Master, I'll be happy.
Hey Kippur
Date: 2008-06-24 07:46 am (UTC)I'm actually here to say hi and mention how much I enjoyed your sporkings of The Fifth Sorcress. I was so jealous that you'd had the guts to read it that I read it too. Then I read the sequel. Then I read book three.
I'm afraid that after I finished book three I kinda... lost it. Here's a picture of my copy:

Date: 2008-06-24 04:25 pm (UTC)They got better. Honestly. You should try it again. They brought back the Master in a great way. (Even if I hated the ending).
Also, generally speaking, when I do the sporks it's so that other people know enough NOT to read them.
In regards to the picture? Can I put that up on my Sporking site?
