Well I have this journal and I'm not doing anything with it. Why? I don't know, probably because I've been so ding-dang busy I just haven't had the time.

But I came up with a somewhat intelligent idea. I think I'll use this as a random place (at least for now) to rant about my Thesis/Novel.

Seems like a good idea? No?

Right then, well who asked you. Not me.

So my Thesis can be found at Freepress.net under the name Kippur. It's called Love Lust and the Apocalypse . That pretty much explains it.

Right now the first draft is done and is in the hands of my thesis director. He says that Lorac needs more backbone because he's threatening to become overpowered by Alec. I agree.

The only problem is that going into Lorac's head is not a place I want to be. He's bad crazy. Or he ends up that way. At least that's the way he is in my head now, fully formed. Cackling gleefully and everything. I really don't know what to do with him.

But if into the depths of madness is where I must go to perfect my Novel then there I must go.

Well, I for one wouldn't recommend it. There's a wonderful story about Sir Lawrence Olivier and Dustin Hoffman on the set of Marathon Man. Hoffman had been doing his method acting, which in this case included not sleeping for several nights before shooting a scene in which his character needed to be haggard. When Olivier discovered this, he remarked: "Why don't you try acting, my good man? It's much easier."

So, with regards to your novel, my recommendation is to try simply writing -- it sure beats going crazy! :-)

After all, we writers say that writing's cheaper than therapy. It should therefore have an effect opposite that of driving you bonkers.

You didn't ask me... but you might as well get to know the guy since he's one of your main characters. And if you get a little crazy along the way, all your neighbors will chalk it up to artistic eccentricity.
