kippurbird: (What goes on in Kippur's head)

Argh... I've hit the "I wanna hide under my desk" stage of things. It's not so much co-workers today as just... the dearth of nothing to do. If I were to actually work at my normal pace of things, I would also end up with nothing to do. I'm far too efficient and fast.

I've always been fast at things, actually. During school, ninety nine percent of the time I was the first or one of the first persons to hand in their tests. I never thought I went fast, but apparently I did since I finished so quickly. I had that sort of problem in algebra and geometry. They always wanted me to show my work or what theorems I used to get to the answer and I had no idea, I just got the answer. I couldn't slow down enough to see what the steps that I used were. I actually had to have a tutor to help me slow down my thought processes. Or at least figure out what it was I was doing.

When I draw I'm the same way. My hand always goes quickly over the paper sketching out what I want all over the place. I can't slow it down. Trying hurts my head. Which is becoming rather bothersome in my life drawing class. I don't know why this is...but it is.

I have the same problem, being too fast at things. When I was in elementary school, we had this program called Accelerated Reader, in which you would read books, take a test to get points, and use the points to buy things like stuffed animals. My teacher told me to stop reading so fast. She thought I was "showing off" and that I'd hurt the other kids' feelings.

I had that particular problem too! My teacher told me to stop reading so fast because I was getting to far ahead of the other students.

My brother always had the same problem in math classes--he was supposed to show his work, but he rarely did, because he just did it in his head. I never understood how he did, because I can barely do simple two-digit addition in my head...^_^;;;

I've always had the problem with finishing things too early, though. During my AP exams last year, one of my classmates refused to sit next to me on the grounds that I finished too fast, and it made her nervous.

Funny, because being the first one done always made ME nervous...because I always felt like I must've missed something. It's nice to finally know that it's not just me!

I don't know if I did it in my head, I had to work it out on paper, but I just did it without realizing what exactly I was doing.

Yeah, being the first one done is always making with the nervousness.

I only have that problem with things I like. Things I hate take ages to do :/

I have the opposite problem. I think things through too slowly. When I used to take tests I would get the right answers, but I tended to run out of time a lot. :|

I tend to finish things up fast too. Unless I get distracted, that is. -_-;
