For want of a hypeh, a day was lost.
Sep. 27th, 2007 02:45 pmI'm at Calstate Domingez Hills right now with my mother as she's trying to complete the things necessary to graduate. Currently one of the things blocking her is a hyphen. Yes, one of these "-". You see the Dean of the Music department is, in her words "a Poo-Poo head". He really doesn't like my mother and seems to be determined to make her life miserable.
She had to do a mini-thesis for her graduation final project thing. The paper reached his desk and he rejected it for these three reasons:
*He didn't like the order of the words in the title.
*He didn't like the tone of the introduction.
*There wasn't a table of contents.
So, my mom fixed those "problems" and today we went down to hand in the paper. Looking at the introduction he said you're missing a hyphen here. And he won't accept the paper until she puts in the hyphen.
Now we're at the library where she put in the missing hyphen and is currently printing out the introduction to hand in again.
We've been here for about three hours now trying to get all the paper work straightened out because her advisor is absentminded and forgot to hand certain things in at the right time. This is the third time we've had to come down here to get this straightened out. And each time it was supposed to be the last time and she could graduate.
Really, what's pissing me off the most, is that hyphen. I mean... it's a hyphen. One single hyphen.
Jerk.
