First Seder

kippurbirdWell it was the first Passover seder without Grandma. Kinda sad. Missed her alot at this one. I ended up sitting at her seat >:( which I didn't want to, but Ari took my seat and I didn't feel like arguing about it. There's nothing like listening to Aunt Gail wheeze to give you an appettite.
Mom and Dad sort of filled in her missing parts. Things that she said or did every year.
Mom said that she missed telling Grandma not to eat the Karpas.
Then during the Ten Plagues, when we reached the Death of the First Born, my dad said, "Yes, I went to Minyan". Grandma always asked if he did that, because he's the first born.
When dinner started, the festive meal, Mom served "Eggy Soup" which is shredded eggs water and a lota salt. I like it. Every year grandma would comment how it was so nice and when she was a girl they just had hard boiled eggs. Mom gave that line this year.
In happier news, my dad is slipping on the Hiding of the Afikoman I found it by accident when I was helping my mother with the soup. It was under the microwave. This is a lot better than the year he hid it on the side of the stove with some tape and a clothes pin. >:( Ari and I rehid it, Ari wanted to hid it in a wimpy spot so Dad found it rather quickly, but I think he enjoyed looking for it.
