Ahhh... Traditions.
Apr. 4th, 2004 09:24 pmThis evening and night we got ready for Passover. There are many traditions in this family in regards to Passover.
The yearly fight about the Jelly. As in my father doesn't want it. I and my mother do. (We win)
Then there is the "This is only symbolic" talk that my mother gives when she does the cleaning of the counters and things like that. "If I was really cleaning it I would rinse it three times with boiling water, not once. This isn't really clean for Passover."
And of course there's the traditional Ewwwing of certain things, depending on the person it can be either Horseradish, Gefilte fish, Matzah Brie or any of a hundred different things.
And finally we have the Box Of Really Old Maccaroons That Sound Like Rocks When You Shake Them. Ever year we open up this box and look at its contents, several canisters of Maccaroons and an anceint box of Noodle mix, Marvel at the Age and then put it back in the garage never to see the light of day again until next year.
It's really kinda Strange.
But in a good way.

Funny!
And Terry Pratchett - probably the most brillant writer ever!

Date: 2004-04-06 05:28 pm (UTC)I'm glad you find my little ramblings amusing. It's always nice to have that sort of vindication that someone is relating to what you're going through and that they understand.
And yes, Terry Prachett is akin to godhood.
