I now have a bed.

Well, a bed frame.

Which I put together with help from my mom and brother. Yes. Three autistic people managed to put together a bed from IKEA, by ourselves without killing anyone.

FEAR US!

Tomorrow we shall tackle something else (I have a dresser, a shoe box thingy and a nightstand left). Or go and look at mattresses. For I have need for such a thing. I do not wish to sleep on the floor.

Other things I need:

Bookshelf(ves)
desk
art table
comic book boxes
new scratching post
microwave
Lamps
ummm... and other stuff.

Heh, the scratching post amused me since everything else on that list is something *you* will use, it initially sounded like the scratching post was that way, too. ;-)

Well, I do need a new one. Chaucer's is nearly thread bare. There are little bits of it on the floor. I really should pick them up.

Yeah, but I mean, it sounded like "I'm going to use the bookshelves, I'm going to use these boxes, I'm going to use this scratching post" ...

I have a weird sense of humor, I guess. ^_^

Heee... I suppose it does sound like that.

Go you! *needs to finish assembling her new stuff*

Mattresses are Of The Good.

And I'm just going to recarpet my cats' scratching posts. $10 at the carpet place for a remnant, and that's enough carpet to redo all three scratching posts with plenty left over. XD

I should probably do that. But I don't know how to do that. We have talked about doing that. Perhaps we will do that.

It's not that hard - pull off the old carpet, use it as a template to cut the new carpet down (make sure that you leave a little extra around the edges), then wrap it around, and use a heavy-duty stapler to attach it. Trim down to the right size, and you're done. :)

I recommend the Tempur-Pedic mattress. So comfortable...

Stupid question: why would being autistic prevent you from putting together furniture?

Because autistic people are incapable of doing anything so complicated. /sarcasm.

Pfft. Everyone knows you make up for your social inabilities by being brilliant at math or memorizing Pi to 48346 digits or knowing everything about trains. I read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, so I know all about it.

(also sarcasm, btw)

Really?

But wait, I can't do that.

OMGAWD! I'm not autistic!!
