Right. So, how am I doing? I've been quiet for a while. I still do exist, I want you to know.

I'm starting school on Monday. I'm taking a costume drawing, inDesign and photography class. My dad got me a camera for the class really cheap. However I've only seen it for all of five minutes. In theory my dad is going to sell it after class. But considering how much fun he's been having with it I seriously doubt it.

I've still got no car, but in theory my dad's getting one in March so fingers crossed and all that jazz.

Still unemployed, of course.

Here's a photo of the cat and a drawing I did.

I found a bunch of sheets of doodles I did at my D&D games. I thought I'd share them.

Lots of them ahoy! )

Well, I think the New Year is off to a decent start.

I managed to write a short story (about 5k) that I'm pleased with. Now it's editing time. The story takes place in Alec's world but about five thousand odd years before he was born. It's about some of the first wizards and is called "the Man Who Pulled Down the Moon".

As for the Inheritance stuff! I am almost ready to do that. :O

I'm thinking of starting on Monday if all goes well.

I imagine I'll be using this a lot:

Weedy Sea Dragon by ~Kippur on deviantART

I went to the Aquarium of the Pacific today for my birthday. My entire family went. It was awesome.

There were all sorts of beautiful fish in more neon colors than should be possible in real life. Big fish, tiny fish, weird fish. I love the sea horses and the weedy sea dragons. I love saying that Weedy Sea Dragons. They didn't have any toy ones so I couldn't bring one home with me. Sad.

They had a lot of touching tanks in the aquarium. I got to touch a jelly fish (there were a whole bunch of those, like ghosts!), and sharks and manta rays. It was so cool. They also had seals and sea otters. One of the cooler things, more different than other aquariums that I've been to is the lorikeet exhibit. You can walk into their habitat and they're uncaged. They'll come right up to you and sit on you. Especially if you have some nectar, which you can buy for three dollars a tiny cup. I did not do that, but still managed coax one onto my arm. They're so pretty and make the loveliest noises.

After the aquarium, I bought a stuffed penguin which I named Rory ,(Doctor Who fans may be able to figure out why) we went on a harbor cruise of the Long Beach Harbor. My mom didn't go because she gets sea sick really easily. The cruise was okay, nothing to spectacular. It felt more like an advertisement for downtown Long Beach because the guide kept on going "And over to your left is the X where there are fine shops, excellent places to eat and lovely walking areas." There was more of that than there was actual history stuff. I saw some sea lions which were cute and I guess that was okay.

For a late lunch early dinner we went to the Cheesecake Factory. Not my favorite place but it was fun sitting out on the patio near the marina. We all got salmon with mashed potatoes, but different veggies.

And now I'm back home waiting for present time. :D

Because I can.

It took a bit of a frustrating amount of time, but yes. A quick sketch I did at work of Alec in a trench coat.

In regards to the lovely Yaoi picture. I want to get a sketchbook and draw only porn like situations in it. Of people kissing and undressed, becoming undressed and things like that. Just all sorts of "naughty" things. Especially yaoi. Then when people look at it, I can say, "Oh, I'm just practicing my anatomy" smiling with an utterly innocent smile.

Part of the reason why I'd like to do such a thing (beyond the humor) is because SO many people seem to think that autistic people are incapable of having those sorts of thoughts. We only draw perfectly innocent things like buildings and um... kittens and flowers. The fact that I draw fantasy like things and people often shock them. They see me drawing and want to look at the kittens and instead find people and elves and things. It's really amusing their reactions. They get their patronizing look on and then they actually see what I'm drawing and stutter to a stop. You can see their mental trains derail. They pick it up rather quickly and continue to be patronizing, but still, for a brief moment they're confused.

It's funny.

I printed out the yaoi picture and taped it onto my cabinet at work. I outlined it first so it's more visible. I'm wondering if I should put it on my other wall where it's more visible. I think I shall.
