Thirty thousand words later, I'm just hitting the beginning of the climax for my Fool's story.

This was supposed to be a shoooort story.

Hah!

At least I've got a title for it now: "Forgotten Fool".

Apparently 7.5k is the standard limit for short story publications--I thought more around 10k was okay, but maybe not.

25k is more like a novella.

Wow, for some reason I keep thinking 7.5K is too small. Even 10K sounds a bit small but better. I guess I really have no concrete grasp of how long most things are. o.o ^_^;

10 k is really pushing it for a short story. That's about forty double spaced pages. 30k definitely in the novella category for the SFWA nebula awards. So, clearly this has gotten way out of hand.
