Musing on muses.

I've more than several muses wandering around my head, and I thought to just look at some of my non-Alec'y ones. Being Alec and his immediate family and summarize why I like them/or created them. What their stories are.

[livejournal.com profile] mir_violinist : Mir (Vladamir) is a child prodigy violinist from Russia. His parents capitalized on his talent and sent him touring around since he was about four. He toured all over Europe and the United States before having a nervous breakdown at the age of ten. He couldn't pick up the violin for five years and once he did, he couldn't play for audiences. So, he ran away, with the violin and became a street musician. His violin is haunted by the original owner a woman named Sasha, and Mir has a gift to make the music he plays come alive for the listener. He met a young king named Phelps in the Nexus and followed him home where they've become lovers and he's quite happy.

I created Mir as a sort of, I suppose out reach on my own musical talents (or lack there of) I played the violin for a long time but eventually gave it up. I love playing it but I'm not that good at it. There's also something about the idea of a child prodigy who's gone deliberately from riches to sleeping on the streets that interests me. Whatever caused that must have so traumatized him that he rather risk the dangers of the streets than the safety of his home.

[livejournal.com profile] hidden_jedi & [livejournal.com profile] hidden_sith Kale and Trever Delvar (respectively) are a pair of Force sensitive, identical twins that live in the Star Wars universe. They have a very strong Force bond that allows them to be almost like one person when the two of them are together. When they were about nineteen, however, Trever left the planet and it was the first time the two of them were really separated. Trever has dark side leanings while Kale has light side ones. When the two of them are together they're sort of a muddling gray. The worst thing for them would be the loss of the other and they would do anything to prevent it.

I've always found the idea of twins fascinating. I wanted to be a twin when I was younger (still do). The idea of the dark and light side of the Force is also an interesting concept and so with the twins I'm playing with the idea of a pair of very closely related and bonded individuals with different side tendencies and how that interacts and plays off each other.

Jacob Dowell (There's several versions of him. First would be [livejournal.com profile] book_of_nines) Jacob was created to play in [livejournal.com profile] canadianevil's universe, where people have the ability to summon spirits from one of nine planes. Usually people have the ability to summon from one to four planes. The great hero of the world is Rhys who has the ability to summon from all nine. Jacob, the first version, was a spirit bane. He was cursed to be unable to summon any spirits and in fact summoned spirits would refuse to be anywhere near him. When Rhys lifted the curse from Jacob, it turns out (in the first version) he could summon from all nine planes (later that was changed to seven) and was Rhys' successor. Especially since the curse went from Jacob to Rhys. Jacob tried being a hero like Rhys but sucked at it as he was also considered "ill-gifted". Eventually he committed heroic suicide because he just couldn't stand living anymore.

I'm sure Jacob's spirit bane came from my frustration of being unable to do things that non-autistic people can. The inability to understand what was happening. And then playing with the idea that well, once I was "cured" I would be even unhappier than I was before.

[livejournal.com profile] wolf_were_wolf is a wolf that turns into a man. He was captured by a wizard who experimented on him and caused that change to happen. He's basically a reverse werewolf. He tends to walk around naked when in human form because he doesn't get the idea of clothes and thinks that humans are utterly nutters.

The wolf... called Wolf... was someone I created to try and flip expectations. Turn around the norm. Everyone has seen a werewolf, but how many have seen a wereman? It's different. I've only seen two stories where that has happened (and one sucked) and so I decided to try and play with that idea. He is also, again, probably an experiment with the autism and how an autistic person sees the world differently and isn't really what a person expects when they meet a high functioning person.

Jackie [livejournal.com profile] loom_baby is the son of the Doctor and the Master created in a slightly different timeline where the Master relented and talked to the Doctor after that phone call in episode "the Sound of the Drums". Jackie was created to carry on the legacy of the Time Lords. It's a duty that he feels most uncomfortable bearing.

Jackie is pure crack. He's a great guy and everything, and I play him seriously, but he was created on crack in a chat room for a Dr.Who game I'm in. I wish there was something deeper to say about him, but really that's it. But I think it's interesting trying to play a character who is based on a rather silly crack idea moment.

Those are my serious sort of ones. I have a bunch of other ones that I don't really play any more and some canon ones. But these are the ones on the fore front of my mind.

*Night of the Wolf, anyone? Anyone? It's got plenty of Celtic/Roman crack... But yeah, Maniel = Stu onna stick.

I'm an identical twin myself- I used to hate it when I was little. People always asked the same inane questions over and over again ("OMG can you FEEL each other's PAIN?") and then didn't even have the grace to get my name right. Now I've kind of accepted it. I've even started answering to my sister's name whenever people call it. XD
