late night brain burbles
Oct. 5th, 2010 11:16 amThere's an anthology published by a company that my friend has had two stories published in previous anthologies. They do one off theme anthology. The newest one is called Jackospec.
I decided to come up with a story for this one and had a few ideas last night pinging around while I was with my friend out at Denny's. Monday nights are our writing nights. I put it on hold though and worked on some other things.
After I'd gone to bed and was staring at the ceiling in the dark, the cat making himself comfortable on my feet, I had a sudden epiphany of an idea for the story. I knew how it began, how it would end, the beats. Everything! So, the only thing I could do was climb out of bed, grab my notebook and pen and scribble away for a half hour.
Of course my brain couldn't wait until the day light hours when I was more awake. It had to burble through when I was trying to sleep. Which is completely evil of it.
At least, though, I captured the idea and most of the story. I just have to type it up and finish it.
