Because people seemed to be so interested in the contents of my bookshelf, I present pictures of my bookshelf.

Let's see, here we have my D&D manuals, Harry Potter, Legal Drug manga and MLA18

Anne McCaffery and Peter David New Frontier shelf.

Terry Pratchett! And some Lego Star Wars and lightsaber.

Thursday Next (minus the Well of Lost Plots, which my mom is borrowing) Terry Goodkind, Sword of Truth, Abhorson Trilogy, Mercedes Lacky Wizard of London (Why is that there? that's totally the wrong shelf.) His Majesty's Dragon, my Well used Copy of Lord of the Rings, and three Star Trek books. As well as a dragon wearing a keepa, Hedgewig and another lightsaber.

Storm Front, Dresden Files book one. Sir Apropos of Nothing, Inkheart, Inkspell, Neverwhere, American Gods (Anazi Boys being borrowed), Good Omens, The Princess Bride, Ella Enchanted, Mercedes Lackey books., Blue and Red brick, and more Star Trek books. Also two more Star Wars Legos and my wand.

Shakespeare collection, the Man in the Iron Mask, the Little Princess, Around the World in Eighty Days and Tolkien books.

And this is just because it's silly. :D

I looked at the HP rack and the first thing that came to mind is that you seem to be missing Goblet of Fire. That or it's somewhere else for the moment.

That last one of Chaucer in the bathtub takes the cake. So adorable!

I have no idea why he was in there. But apparently he's taken to licking up the water after my showers.

Heh. My first thought was "Your Anne McCaffery books are as beat up as mine!"

You have awesome taste in literature, although I'm sure that goes without saying. And I see I'm not the only one who usually has at least ONE bookmark in most of her books XD

Okay, is it just me, or is Goodkind ridiculously drawing out the 'Imperial Order' plot in the Sword of Truth series? To the point where it's hard to form a cogent idea of what the heck is actually even happening anymore?

And ooh, Shadowrun!

The cover of my DragonsDawn is falling off. I got it for my thirteenth birthday. It's what got me into her books.

Thanks! And yes. Bookmarks are important. =D

The next book is the last book from what I've heard. (Unlike say, Robert Jordan who is the author who never ends). So, I'm hoping it'll come to some sort of coherent conclusion. Or at least some sort of conclusion.

And Shadowrun is <3.

Hooray, last book! Though honestly, unless he really finishes on just a tremendous note (you've got all of Pillars of Creation and Chainfire to make up for, at least, Goodkind...) I may just 'forget' the later series. 'Sword of Truth? Oh, right, that quadrilogy, right? Yeah, that Temple of the Winds was a great ending.'

Heh. Some of mine used to be my mom's. DragonSinger, I think, has a note book card taped on for the cover.

Is it highly enjoyable? :O

Awwww, fluffy kitty exploring bathtub! Watch out for the shower head, kitty! >XD

If cats wrote books, I'm sure there would be an Ayn Rand-esque one titled The Shower Head. No, I haven't actually read the book. Why do you ask? ^_~

I hope I don't sound stalkerish, but instead of reading Eragon (I couldn't finish the first 30 pages), I just read the Eragon sporkings (which is much more entertaining ^^ ) and... now, after that, here I am :X
Now, to comment on the entry at hand, your taste in books is very good, imo, and I adore your background! Reminds me of my budgie (: Is that a cat or oddly colored raccoon in the last picture? O_oa

It was a good ending. I don't see why it had to go on from there. Except there was that whole Jajang plot thingy.

I like it! But there's only three that I've been able to find and I don't know if there's any more. :(

He hasn't seem to have discovered the shower head yet.

I wish I understood your reference. It sounds funny.

Hi!

No you don't sound stalkerish. I have a stalker already and you're nothing like them. (Long story etc.)

The parakeet in the background is Pepper, my parakeet sitting on the mirror in my parents bathroom. And when I saw your icon I went PEPPER! :D

The last picture is Chaucer, my cat.

Kitties don't like having water poured down on them. So a shower head that is turned on and spitting water actively doesn't appeal to them. (And yeah, I've never actually read Ayn Rand's book so I was just being goofy... and it may not make sense at all, with regard to her book. But it still might make a great kitty book title anyway! A mystery/thriller perhaps? Kitties are usually scared of it.) XD

Having seen his attempt to wrap it up, this is one thread I would have been more than happy to leave dangling. Especially since, with all the building up he's done of the Imperial Order, it's almost impossible to see how they can be stopped in a satisfying manner, without simply employing a deus ex magica.

From: [identity profile] kippurbird.livejournal.com
Unfortunately Goodkind has a tendency for the deus ex magica.
