Latest issue of Exiles
May. 21st, 2007 09:06 amDear Chris Claremont,
Plz do not be writing Exiles anymore.
Yes, I know you are a Legendary X-Men Writer, but really, the ending to your story arc on Exiles sucked ass. First of all, your internal monologuing all sounds the same. And you had Sabertooth do that. Sabertooth does not internal monologue. He's a very actiony sort of fellow. He doesn't reflect so much as plan what to do next.
Then there was the bit with Valerie Richards. You said that she was the key to saving the world, but she did nothing to do such. That was a very bad red herring.
Thirdly, the point of the Exiles is that THEY save the world. Not Reed Richards pulling off some Deus Ex Machina out of his ass after all the Exiles have failed which causes the entire -yes the ENTIRE reality to be wiped off the map - not just EARTH but ALL OF REALITY- and then restarted like in the Matrix. In fact the ending was rather like the end of the Matrix Trilogy. This is not a good thing. And I know that Reed Richards is The Smartest Man in the Marvel Universe, but I don't think that even HE could find a way to recreate reality in about half a day's notice after it's been wiped out. The Exiles should have some how saved reality ... or just abandoned it and let it fail.
Plz be thinking of this next time.
