Saw Wolverine last night.

Very disappointed.

Have some eggs.

Aww, it's sad that that's the general consensus so far.

[identity profile] kippurbird.livejournal.com 2009-05-03 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
It's an okay popcorn flick but not a good X-Men flick.

[identity profile] dergerm.livejournal.com 2009-05-03 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
None of them, in retrospect, have been 'good' X-Men flicks.

[identity profile] amamelina.livejournal.com 2009-05-05 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
TWo was only good because it had Nightcrawler in it. Anything with Nightcrawler is bound to be good. *sighs*

[identity profile] lenka0602.livejournal.com 2009-05-03 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
oh, was it really that bad?

[identity profile] kippurbird.livejournal.com 2009-05-03 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Depends on why you're going to see it.

[identity profile] kjtaylor.livejournal.com 2009-05-03 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
Aw man, don't say that! I'm gonna go see it tonight!

[identity profile] x-trickster-x.livejournal.com 2009-05-03 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
Awww, that sucks. I've been hearing that a lot.

Honestly, I'm going for Gambit- he's always been my favourite ever since I was little.

I second that.

Question is, is Gambit enough to justify sitting through a potential shitty movie? (The previous Xmen movies left a bad taste in my mouth; otherwise this'll be a no brainer, because GAMBIT).

[identity profile] x-trickster-x.livejournal.com 2009-05-03 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Doesn't look like he's in it for a huge amount of time either. I don't know- I might just wait around for some more feedback on it. =\ Dilemmas.

I think I'll be safe and wait this one out. I know the last thing I need right now is to be pissed the fuck off on wasting 5 bucks seeing it.

*sticks fingers in ears* LALALALA I'M NOT LISTENING!

[identity profile] kjtaylor.livejournal.com 2009-05-03 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Just got back from seeing it. It was okay. Not as good as the other X-Men movies, but not bad.

[identity profile] mistyeyedreamer.livejournal.com 2009-05-03 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
*sigh* Yeah, my friend told me it wasn't that good. I'll probably rent it or something when it comes out, I guess.

[identity profile] dragonlet.livejournal.com 2009-05-03 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
):

I enjoyed it.

The thing about this movie that I think a lot of people are missing is that being "good" is not the point. It's about seeing shit getting fucked up by Wolverine (amongst others). It doesn't even attempt to look like anything else in the trailers.

As my girlfriend said to someone: "Seriously, if I want a deep and thought-provoking narrative I'll go get myself a deep and thought-provoking narrative. If I want to see exploding shit and Hugh Jackman's burnished, rippling chest, then I'll watch Wolverine."

Having properly-aimed expectations makes life very, very sweet. :)

Oh it was very good for exploding shit and Hugh Jackman's rippling chest of naughty thoughts. And it was a good popcorn flick, I'll give it that.

The X-Men fan in me just sort of kept on screaming and bashing its head against the wall and giving itself a concussion.

My roommate went for watching Hugh Jackman for several hours and was thoroughly pleased.

You just have to keep telling yourself, this isn't the 616 Wolverine; this is a whole new part of the Marvel multiverse.

[identity profile] kippurbird.livejournal.com 2009-05-06 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I did after a while.

Deadpool Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

Fuck you, Fox

[identity profile] gjohnsonkoehn.livejournal.com 2009-05-04 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's what I heard. I'll wait for it to hit dvd.

Now, Star Trek and Terminator Salvation, those are theatre-worthy movies!

[identity profile] amamelina.livejournal.com 2009-05-05 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I've only seen the commercials (movies cost money, which I have none, so I only watch the commercials on tv). I need my geek points back. Who is the guy with the sword? I can pick out everyone else, but I can't, for the life of me, remember any X-man character using a sword.

[identity profile] amamelina.livejournal.com 2009-05-06 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
*sputters* Wait, isn't he supposed to wear a mask?

My faith in the Marvel universe if failing.

[identity profile] kippurbird.livejournal.com 2009-05-06 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
In the beginning of the movie it was Wade Wilson before becoming Deadpool. At the end of the movie it was Deadpool.

Though, no one in the movies ever seems to wear a mask.
