At one point in our discussion I was explaining why Hal decided to sacrifice himself to restart the sun which was being eaten by the appropriately named sun eater.

So, not the sun that was being eaten by Solaris, the Tyrant Sun and rescued with the help of a sun-eater, then? ;)
